When There’s No Way Out
This week, things were rough at home. We were dealing with a situation that just felt… hopeless. One of those moments where you can’t see a solution, no matter how hard you try.
Susie and I were talking about it, and—just being honest here—I was feeling a little more hopeful than she was. (I’d never say that out loud… okay, maybe I would. But let’s keep that between us.)
I said something without really thinking about it:
“God loves these situations. The ones where we know there’s no way out—because that’s when we have to depend completely on Him. That’s how our faith grows.”
I didn’t think much of it at the time. But the next morning, in prayer, it hit me. God does let us face impossible things. Not because He wants to watch us struggle, but because He wants us to finally stop trying to fix everything ourselves—and trust Him instead.
And honestly, that’s the choice in moments like these:
We can give up and fall into despair.
Or we can choose faith—and watch Him do what only He can do.
“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)
If you’re feeling stuck today, maybe it’s not a measure of whether God can fix it. Maybe it’s a measure of how much He wants your faith to grow—and how much He believes you’re ready to accept that gift.
Reflection Questions:
- Is there a situation right now where you feel completely stuck?
- What would it look like to stop trying to fix it yourself and trust God fully?
- Do you believe He wants your faith to grow through this—and that He’s able?
