Invite a Friend

The key is invitation. If you want your parish to thrive, the best thing you can do is help someone you know meet Jesus. It doesn’t have to be complicated or awkward. Here are simple ways to invite a friend—whether they’re open to coming to church or not quite ready yet.

🕊️ Start with Parish Events

When your parish runs something—support it! These events grow when we bring others with us.

  • Guest Speakers / Missions
    “Come with me to hear this talk—let’s go together.”
  • Alpha or The Rescue Project
    “They’re starting a series of dinners and conversations. Want to try one night with me?”
  • Parish Ministries / Service Nights
    “I’m volunteering at [event]. Want to join me? We can serve together.”
  • RCIA / OCIA Inquiry
    “They have a ‘come and see’ night for questions—no pressure. Want to check it out with me?”

👉 Tip: The invitation is more powerful when you say “I’ll go with you.”

“If church feels like too big of a step, would you try this simple series with me?”

✍️ How to Invite (3 Easy Scripts)

Sometimes the hardest part is knowing what to say. Here are a few you can copy, paste, or adapt:

  1. For a Parish Event:
    “Hey, our parish is hosting [speaker/mission] next week. I’d love for you to come with me. Want to check it out together?”
  2. For a Watch Option:
    “Have you ever seen The Chosen? Want to watch one episode with me and see what you think?”
  3. For Encounter Jesus:
    “I’ve been trying something called Encounter Jesus—4 short sessions to meet Him personally. Want to do it with me? No pressure, just us.”
